Saint John the Baptist

The celebration of Saint John the Baptist – patron of the town of Pozzallo and protector of the Sailors and the Emigrants – takes place in June 24^th and is a very important event of religious devotion which also inaugurates the summer in Pozzallo.

During the celebration it is possible to distinguish two very important events: the first one is the procession by sea where many boats, with the believers on board, accompany the image of Saint John and the second one is the procession to the streets of the town in June 24^th.

In the evening a wonderful fireworks takes place.

In addiction to this, during the week, in the street of the town, there are different stands prepared in occasion of the ice-cream fair.
